Summary/Abstract: The door is not an object like the others, its evocation is almost always symbolic and this is how the doors have become subjects. Where does this taste for doors come from? Are they really protecting us? No door has ever succeeded in closing a space permanently. Let us remember that the door, this pivoting wall has two sides: the one which is seen from inside the house corresponding to the interior with all the limits that this implies, and the one which is seen from the outside of the house, the "outside the door”, the always threatening exterior.
