Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to one of the current environmental problems of the member states of the European Union (EU), associated with the rapid development of scientific and technical progress and its negative consequences on the environment. In particular, it refers to Directive 96/82/EC and the need to exercise control on environmental pollution from industrial sources that can cause large accidents with dangerous chemical substances.
