Summary/Abstract: Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, also known as Madame Blavatsky, was born in Russia. Her life was full of unusual journeys and mysterious events, and she was already considered a controversial person during her lifetime, evoking various extreme emotions. She was a writer and co-founder of the Theosophical Society whose doctrine was based on the search for truth in all religions. Moreover, the Society was to be a universal community, bringing together all people regardless of gender, colour or social class. Blavatsky described her basic views on this subject in her book "Isis Unveiled".
