Summary/Abstract: An attempt to summarise foreign migrations of the Poles ten years after the country joined the European Union. The publication contains a comprehensive and thorough analysis of the reasons, process and consequences of post-accession migration from different perspectives: demographic, economic, political and sociocultural. It analyses the reasons for such intense migration, the ways and the pace at which the Poles settle in other countries, describes the characteristics of people who leave their homeland, and considers the consequences of the migration for Poland, its regions, local communities, the migrants themselves and their families.
