Summary/Abstract: The monograph is primarily a methodology that introduces (not only) special educators and other therapists (interventionists) to innovative therapeutic approaches applicable in special education intervention and therapy. These are mainly the Japanese Comorebi system and body work based, among others, on the methods of the plastic-cognitive movement style. We focus mainly on clients with problematic behaviour based on their otherness.Komorebi is a Japanese term for the play of light and shadow through the moving leaves of trees. This phenomenon –whether latent or fully manifested – permeates both the theoretical and practical chapters of the book. Movement and the awareness of the constant transformation of our perception of both the light and shadow aspects of ourselves, rootedness in physicality and presence, as well as the connection with other dimensions of human existence within the concept of embodiment, form Ariadne’s thread through the labyrinth of approaches, methods, and theories presented in the book. The publication is intended for professionals in the fields of psychology, psychotherapy, and special education, as well as for anyone seeking inspiration in the connection between the body, movement, mindfulness, creativity, and personal growth within the helping professions.
