Summary/Abstract: The unexpectedly long economic crisis showed all the weaknesses - political, economic and social - of the existing system, which did not carry out an essential transformation and break with the entire Milošević legacy. The impasse into which Serbia once again entered is cause for serious concern, first of all for the preservation of the minimum achieved democratization, and then for the continuation of the EU accession policy. 58% of citizens' support for EU integration is the lowest percentage so far. The problem is largely that the concrete interest of the citizens is excluded from the communication with the public about the accession process and it is reduced to a vague state bureaucratic procedure that takes place far away and without the influence of the citizens themselves.
