Summary/Abstract: "Violence and we - towards a society without violence", a book from the criminological field of Phenomenology of violence, is divided into General and Special parts. The General Section contains two headings, Understanding Violence and Gender-Based Violence. In the Special Part, seven special forms of violence are dealt with, Femicide, Violence against LGBT persons, Peer violence, Myths and rituals of sports violence, Religiously motivated wars and conflicts of the past and present, Violence against women in Islamic culture and Mass murderers and serial killers. In addition to the issue of causation, this text in each individual chapter also deals with issues of specific and concrete social policies and strategies that need to be undertaken in the function of countermeasures, that is, measures designed to suppress the occurrence of violence and remedy the consequences of committed violence. There is no clear consensus on how to realize the complete protection of people from violence, but there is also no precise or shared idea of what it should look like and in what ways perfect humanity should be organized as a utopian environment from which violence is eliminated. However, it is possible to identify some political virtues, e.g. the virtues of social cooperation, civility and tolerance, the existence of just laws and just institutions, which can certainly be considered those features of a society in which there are no environmental and social incentives for individual, collective and group violence.
