Summary/Abstract: Prevention of corruption is important for the functioning of a democratic society. At the center of the priority of every organized social community is first of all the protection of basic human rights, which can be particularly threatened due to the undertaking of corrupt activities. Failure to take or untimely measures to prevent corruption (especially in the public sector) contributes to citizens' distrust in the work of state institutions. This can have a negative impact on the attitude of citizens, and also the obligations of citizens towards the state, because they themselves can resist the application of the law (eg paying taxes). Although corruption is also present in the private sector, in our research we limited ourselves exclusively to the public sector, because we believe that the presence of corruption in it is very harmful for the entire society and that its presence in the public sector triggers corruption in the private sector (economic sector).
