Summary/Abstract: The book is a selection of linguistic commentaries presented between 2004 and 2024 in radio and television programs, as well as on the website of the Language Advisory Service of the University of Silesia. The sketches aim to popularise knowledge about language as a tool for societal communication, showcase the Polish language's richness, development, and potential, satisfy readers' curiosity, and support respectful and informed care for the common good that is the national language. The material is organised thematically, with sections on vocabulary, etymology, proper names, and word inflexion. Footnotes provide readers with opportunities to deepen their understanding, while an index of words and phrases facilitates the use of the work.
