Summary/Abstract: Chapter 26 Education and Culture is one of the two negotiation chapters that is temporarily closed, and the content consists of examining the possibilities and administrative and financial capacities for Serbia's participation in EU programs, among which is Erasmus Plus. However, in addition to that, Chapter 3 Right to business establishment and freedom to provide services is closely related to education in the part that concerns mutual recognition of professional qualifications, while Chapter 23 Justice and basic rights refers to the education of national minorities, i.e. the exercise of rights in education of all ethnic groups, corruption and prevention of discrimination in education. This is one of the two most difficult chapters that will be closed only at the end of the process of negotiations on Serbia's accession to the European Union. At the end of 2017, the European Union decided to allocate 27, Mio. €uros in grants to support the reform of the education system in Serbia. The funds will be intended for harmonizing the education system in Serbia with the needs of the labor market, improving the expertise of the teaching staff and helping the education of the most vulnerable minority communities in the country.
