Summary/Abstract: The Beast is Still Alive (2016) is a documentary, emotional and biographical account of our recent traumatic totalitarian past. Told in the form of a first-person confession, it achieves both a dense, meaningful and full-blooded narrative, containing a convincing analysis on the one hand, and a strong emotional impact on the other. At the same time, the film reveals the importance of the role of the individual in documentary cinema.
