Summary/Abstract: Three of the first Bulgarian documentary films have had a remarkably long life, without their authors having received the attention they deserve. These films continue to serve not only as a valuable archive, but also to fill the visual knowledge of Bulgarian generations about bygone times. This is due to the fact that footage from these early three chronicles has been included in dozens of later documentaries.
