Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author sought to define the interesting movement and to systematically provide an image of its origin and learning. Falun Gong is most commonly identified in China by the qigong movement. Qigong is a modern term that refers to a variety ofpractices that include slow movement, meditation, and regulated breathing. Qigong exercises have been practiced throughout history by Buddhist monks, Taoist martial arts masters, and Confucian scholars, considering them as a means of spiritual, moral, and physical training. According to those who practice Falun Gong, it is a multifaceted disciplinethat has multiple meanings, ranging from a series of physical exercises to achieve betterhealth and self-transformation practices, to moral psychology and a new knowledge system.
