Summary/Abstract: This text presents an attempt in finding an answer to the questions posed bymy pupils of fourth grade gymnasium on the classes of orthodox catechesis. They questioned whether there is some concrete evidence for the existence of God, and if He exists, why doesn’t He reveal Himself to every human person; instead, many wander seeking thetruth, and even kill one another out of belief that their faith is better? Every time I try togive an answer to this kind of question, I try to stay out of abstract reasoning, becauseeven the pupils are not quite sure what they mean by the term God. If by God we mean theHoly Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, then we can speak of Him only through Christ, through whom He has revealed Himself to this world. Christ Himself says: “He who hasseen Me has seen the Father” (John 14, 9), or: “I and my Father are one” (John 10, 30),which means that we can know God only through Christ. Through Christ who was “in theworld, and the world has made through Him, and the world knew Him not“ (1, 10). Asbefore, so even today, in spite of the fact that He is here. But, why the world is not capable of knowing Christ if He has revealed Himself, and is constantly revealing Himself tous? What is it that blurs our sight to see Him clearly? In order to answer these questions,I used as an example a movie “The Return“ (Возвращение) by Andrey Zvyagintsev (Андрей Звягинцев), which in my opinion brilliantly summarizes the whole of Holy Scripture, making it more acceptable and approachable for younger generations.
