Summary/Abstract: Public libraries have always been considered essential learning institutions in their communities by offering summer reading and innovative learning opportunities for children, teens and families. By continuing this effort, the „B.P. Hasdeu” Municipal Library has developed and expanded its summer offer, considering it appropriate to include it, in addition to reading programs, interactive learning. Over the years, the library has provided unique and flexible opportunities to engage children, as well learning programs for teens, and experiences based on learning and adults. In the summer of 2021, the library was transformed into a lab for reading, exploration, games, creativity. The 2021 motto, Read and discover Chișinău!, generated interest and attracted children to 27 branches, who had the chance to discover the charm of Chișinău just when the city turned 585 years since the first attestation: through readings about Chișinău, knowledge of personalities, creative explorations through photographs, writing local stories, creation of herbariums and insectariums development of local maps spotting monuments and places of historical and cultural importance, as well interactive games about Chișinău.
