Summary/Abstract: This study reconstructs František Xaver Němeček’s concept of the sublime by examining notes on his lectures at the University of Prague taken by Peter Eduard Bolzano during the 1811–1812 academic year. After demonstrating how Němeček’s concept deviates from Kant’s in the Critique of Judgement, the study goes on to describe the relationship between the two.
