Summary/Abstract: This research examines dementia and its consequences for patients and their families in literature for adolescents. Contemporary French and German authors report on the feelings of the novelistic characters towards the ill, the continuous decline of brain function and its many manifestations, as well as the side effects of Alzheimer's disease.
