Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to illustrate how terms from a highly specific sector of the IT domain, namely networking, can be translated in a target language in order to maintain communication as clear and accurate as possible. The paper also presents some key features of networking vocabulary. In addition, solutions to various translation aspects are provided with the help of translation procedures. Translating texts circumscribed to this specific sector, networking, must take into account linguistic pragmatism, an interesting relationship between language and reality. Linguistic pragmatism is supposed to be able to improve communication. A translator must pay attention to linguistic pragmatism and be able to come up with applicable solutions that make translation relevant.
