Summary/Abstract: The theme of article are names of two main persons which occurs in 24 carols known and sung in modern times in Poland. Synonymic equivalents of names Jesus and Mary are numerous and both semantically and structurally differentiated. They also enrich the number of personal names and stylistically diversify texts of carols.
