Summary/Abstract: In this article we present some aspects of magic and its tools in Cluj in the 16th–18th centuries. In the first part of the article we discuss the legal organization of the city of Cluj and we present György Igyártó, a prosecutor with a major role in several witch trials at the end of the 16th century. In the second part we enumerate the objects used in magical acts and their purposes, based on documents regarding witch trials in Cluj.
