Ethnocultural dimension of Pavlo Muravsky’s Choir School

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to determine the ethnocultural component of the choral school of Pavel Muravsky in the context of social and artistic manifestations of the living space of Ukraine. The research methodology is aimed at revealing the influence of the ideas of sacredness in the work of the Ukrainian choirmaster, as opposed to the materialist attitude of the socio-cultural environment; determining the essence of the creative directions of his choral school, formed in practice and expressed in the book "My choral school." The scientific novelty of the work in identifying the ethnocultural component of the creative method, revealing the narrative concepts of the school of Paul Muravsky and his understanding of choral art a cappella (unaccompanied) as a national ethnocultural idea of the relationship in the Ukrainian philosophy of art. Conclusion. P. Muravsky's choral school is based on the national tradition of a cappella singing, which professes the primordial beauty of vocal melody and the sacred significance of group performance as a manifestation of ethnocultural unity of society.
