Summary/Abstract: One of the representative personalities of the Romanian national movement in Transylvania was the lawyer Ioan Oltean. His professional activity is related to Turda County and the small town of Luduş. He distinguished himself as a professional, philanthropist, tireless national fighter, politician and cultural animator. Faithful to the Greek Catholic Church, but with an ecumenical spirit, Ioan Oltean remains in history as one of the remarkable personalities of Transylvania at the beginning of the 20th century, who contributed to the achievement of the Great Union. In the interwar period, the lawyer Ioan Oltean contributed to the creation of the Turda Bar Association. He was also the president of the Turda County Council and a county councilor.
