Summary/Abstract: This paper is a segment of an ampler project, whose concern is to refocus the attention of philology students on the greco-latin Antiquity and its impact on Romanian literature. Analysing a study of PetruCreția, we tried to emphasize the author’s role in Romanian essay writing, and through the analysis of the relationship between two mythological characters, Athene and Ulysses, we tried to remake the mythological frame in which they evolve. PetruCreția, one of the most important classicists of Romania, has also had an essential contribution in researching Eminescu’s work, finishing the critique edition started by Perpessicius.
