Decoding the symbols of protests against the restriction of the abortion right in Poland

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the mass protests against the restriction of abortion rights in Poland. It presents the concept of social movements and artistic movements in the context of the artistic work of the participants of the women’s strike. It attempts to interpret the symbols used on banners, stickers and stencils as well as in the media discourse. The analysis is based on own photographs and those shared on social networks.
