Summary/Abstract: The functions and the semantic nuances of the particle “oneself” in the colloquial speech are analyzed in the article. These semantic nuances as well as the functions of the clitic “oneself” are determined not solely by the valency of the verb but also by the specifics of the colloquial communicative sphere. In some events the particle “oneself” may have a predominantly emotional-expressive function, in others – modal, and in third ones – a modal-expressive function.
