The use of correspondence analysis in analysing the financial situation of cooperative banks

Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the article is to report the results of using classical correspond-ence analysis to analyse the financial situation of cooperative banks. The empirical study was based on financial results of cooperative banks in 2011 published in the section ”,Świat Pieniądza’’ in the Rzeczpospolita daily newspaper. A sample of 30 cooperative banks with the highest balance sheet totals was analysed. These banks are the part of two regional asso-ciations: SGB and BPS. The use of classical correspondence analysis with doubling made it possible to find weaknesses and strengths of the banks.
