Summary/Abstract: The article, inscribing into a broadly-understood research within cognitive linguistics, deals with the issue of an excerpt of a linguistic representation of singing in Polish, being manifested in synesthetic metaphors. The reconstruction of the phenomenon was based on the necessity of conducting a research within the whole semantic field that is created around a given language element. An excerpt of the extralinguistic reality preserved in metaphors show the semantic complexity of lexis connected with vocal music.
