Social networks and their impact on the security of military organization

Summary/Abstract: Information era and the organisations and people’s dependence on technology has both advantages and disadvantages, overcoming the new asimetric threats requiring knowledge, measures and adaptability. The spread of technologies in all social strata, simultaneously with the new types of threats, creates the premises for the manifestation of cyber threats. The security culture of individuals and the technological level can be pillars in countering possible threats, as well as in the education of the masses. The quantity and quality of information, in the context information propagation speed in the online space represent challenges for specialized defense structures, gathering open source information (OSINT) involving several steps to confirm the veracity of the information and use it to ensure state security.
