Artificial intelligence in contemporary society

Summary/Abstract: In the past years, we are witnessing an exponential increase of systems and devices that are changing both the society we live in and the military infrastructures. While traditional offensive and defensive military equipments are still of interest, a major focus is directed towards the integration of artificial intelligence, especially when talking about intelligent machines, nanotechnology or automated systems that are also being used by armed forces. The combination of the Internet, mobile devices, data analytics systems, drones, artificial intelligence and cloud technology will enable security and defense organizations to develop their capabilities to address and respond the threats. The challenge for security and defense organizations will be to develop and adapt these technologies to the speed with which they are developed in the private sector.
