Domestic higher education institutions in international rankings

Summary/Abstract: In essence, Hungarian higher education institutions seek to advance in international rankings only for the sake of increasing prestige. Although these international rankings are subject to constant criticism, their role is inevitable and indeed influences the judgment of institutions. Therefore, institutions are willing to make efforts to improve their indicators that are the basis of these rankings. The study shows the position of Hungarian higher education institutions in international rankings by ranking indicators.
