Summary/Abstract: The article presents the need to implement the principles of return logistics in municipal waste management, which in Poland is implemented by municipalities as local government bodies. Municipalities have had a statutory obligation since 2012 to develop waste management systems. According to specialists in logistics, municipal waste management systems should meet the requirements of logistics systems. For example, in terms of logistics, the waste management system in Warsaw was evaluated.
