Summary/Abstract: Throughout his career, from the rank of second lieutenant to the rank of general, Radu Șeinescu had commendatory appreciations from his superiors, but also from his comrades. As commandant of the Regiment 2 Border Guard, he took part in the battle of Turtucaia, where he was taken prisoner. The lived experience was related in two memoirs, which provide us with valuable information about the first great defeat of the Romanian army. Returning from captivity, he was integrated into higher structures of the army. Unfortunately, his exemplary career has been overshadowed by allegations of fraud.
