Summary/Abstract: Launched more than 30 years ago, the TEMPUS Programme held an important role in reforming higher education systems in the former communist countries from Central and Eastern Europe. It facilitated cooperation anddiminished differences between member states of the European Community andbeneficiary states. However, since the graduation of these countries in the SocratesProgramme and their later European integration, the role of TEMPUS Programme seems to be forgotten. The existing literature is limited, and in some cases, outdated. In this framework, this article represents a step to provide an overview of the 10 yearimplementation of TEMPUS in the mentioned space.
