Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to produce a solution to the traffic problems of Turkey's most populous city Istanbul by using the sea route In the first part of the study, we explained why people tend to use private vehicles instead of public transportation, in addition, advantages and disadvantages of public transportation have been revealed. In the second part, the maritime transport in Istanbul is summarized and the reasons why the ports are not useful for ship maneuvers and passengers are shown. In the third part of the study, parallel to the shoreline is examined. This line, which can be considered as an alternative to BN1, BN2 and BN3 bus lines, which has a route parallel to the route of commuter trains, has been compared with the metrobus, which is one of the most popular vehicles in Istanbul. In the last part of the study, recreational transportation is mentioned.
