Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to present the genesis of the Polish-Lithuanian Union in the year of the jubilee 450 years from the signing of the Union of Lublin Act. The author undertakes to present this important historical act as a turning point in the history of Central and Eastern Europe at the turn of the 14th and 15th century and presents the consequences of this event in its geopolitical, cultural and religious dimension, based on the rich literature available.
