Coronations of the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the churches of Polish Redemptorists

Summary/Abstract: This elaboration shows the history of papal coronation of the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in churches of Polish Redemptorists from 1967 to 2014. This article was written as a preparation for the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the revitalization of the worship of the Icon and of entrusting the Icon by Pius IX into care of Redemptorist Fathers. The author on the basis of new sources describes the ministry of Polish Redemptorists in various stages of preparation and holdings of the coronation ceremony in important places of worship in Poznań, Toruń, Kraków–Podgórze, Mościska and Gliwice. Events described here are living proof of Marian devotion in the Polish lands in the last half century.
