Summary/Abstract: COVID-19 pandemic reality has forced students and academics to review their views on the teaching process and their role in it. Eighteen months of remote work revealed serious threats (e.g. the risk of plagiarism), inconveniences (e.g. technical problems), and above all, it made it difficult to properly develop and nurture the master-apprentice relationship. For foreign language teachers, it is extremely important that during remote work not all language skills can be developed evenly, which calls for the need to re-examine teaching priorities. Despite various threats, both the authorities and the lecturers recognize the potential dormant in the technical possibilities which have been used to a much greater extent than before. Some solutions can be permanently implemented into the teaching process, enriching the repertoire of teaching techniques, e.g. organizing lectures for a large number of students using various resources enabling online communication.
