About Saint Petersburg in an interdisciplinary way

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a series of Russian as a foreign language classes about Saint Petersburg’s history, geography, art and the Polish language. The interdisciplinary character of this type of classes provide students with an opportunity to develop their receptive and productive language skills as well as boost intercultural sensitivity. The classes induced positive atmosphere within the group and taught students “healthy” rivalry. They also helped overcome the language barrier in a face-to-face conversation with a native speaker.
