Summary/Abstract: Combining the postulates of two independent linguistic disciplines – paremiology and translation studies – the present study is a continuation of the analysis of the translation in Romanian of the paremias from ʺExemplary Novelsʺ, by Miguel de Cervantes, with volume II. Using the same research model, the apophtegmatic units are examined in a contextual (genetic, generic and functional) and translational relationship, which aims at the degree of equivalence of structures, but, especially, how to build a viable correspondent in Romanian then when there is no expression in the target paremiography. Thus, the additions, deletions, permutations, substitutions and expressiveness of the proposed expressions are highlighted.
