Summary/Abstract: Inscribed in the area of comparative analyzes in the field of Romance linguistics, the sphere of translation studies and applied paremiology, the paper aims to analyze the paremias used by Miguel de Cervantes in volume I of the "Exemplary Novels", following the Romanian translation. In the study, clarifications are made about: the context in which they are issued, the functionality at the level of discourse and their origin. We also follow the creative changes of the expressive language, subscribed to the construction figures gathered in the quadripartite ratio.
