Summary/Abstract: The freedom of conscience is one of base values in open societies, where freedom of speech is value. Without freedom we cannot be a society where an individual can flourish. There are many elements who help the movement of the puritans to expend, but we are going to present the core elements who helped to establish the freedom and integrity of consciousness of the puritan movement. This movement understands the importance of the Word of God in the life of the society and helped with the translation of the Bible and application in their settings. The subject of conscience started to be recognized as concept in the XVII century and for the puritans for the conscience to be valid, it had to be based on the Word of God. Accordingly, the modern idea that each individual has his or her own private conscience in which no government or authority has the right to change it. That’s why freedom of conscience is a core value in our society and goes hand in hand with freedom of speech and our actions. The conscience of human beings always is created and never be free from God’s standards which we can find it in the Scripture.
