Summary/Abstract: Media enterprises differ from other enterprises by the specificity of a social mission. Media companies are producers of not only material goods, but also cultural goods. They should be seen as both an economic (commercial) venture aimed at providing profit to their owners, creating jobs, contributing to economic development and improving living standards, but also as sociocultural institutions, important for the overall development of individuals and the whole community, in they work. In this article, I will try to determine the economic functions and socio-cultural functions that media enterprises have to implement.
