Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with phonetic, phonological, morphosyntactic and lexical characteristics of Jovan Babić’s Jana’s Stories, with a particular focus on the ones that are marked territorially. The recorded linguistic characteristics are,then, being compared to instances noted in other folk speeches of the Herzegovina-Krajina (Eastern Herzegovinian) dialect, with which the Serbian speech of Ždralovac is evaluated in the light of this dialect as a compact speech entity.
