Arad county’s minorities press: texts, contexts and social implications

Summary/Abstract: It is known that the western part of Romania was and it continues to be a region with very intense cultural and social contact. In Arad County, the Hungarian, German, Serbian or Jewish Communities have their own publications witch maintain the connection between the members and announce the important news for the internal life of those organisms. We proposed a panoramic view of some publications, parts of the journalistic landscape from this part of the country. Those publications have their place, a necessary and precise one, in the configuration of the regional and national press. The analysis of those publications determines the researcher to conclude that the intense socio-cultural contacts from this region between the different minorities and the Romanian majority influenced the world of the press too. The diversity and permanent evolution of publications is a proof for the intercultural character of this area.
