Summary/Abstract: This article presents the relationship between the changes in the environment of the organization, and the formation of employees’ attitudes and their impact on economic performance. The aim of the research was to diagnose how employees (and future employees) understand the engagement. As a result, a question was raised whether understanding the engagement attitude by students of management could be an opportunity or a limitation for the organizations in which they would work. According to the respondents the key elements that comprise the engagement attitude is being active at work, to desire to contribute to the success of an organization as well as concern about high quality of services. The following statements were frequently indicated as having no connection with the engagement: having trust in superiors, performing the command of a superior who was independent in his/her position, performing obligations included in the contract. Most concerns were raised by a sense of pride in work, trust in superiors and job satisfaction.
