Summary/Abstract: In the transition period from democracy to communism, the first publications that appeared in the Mureş county after the eliberation of Transylvania Egalitatea-Egyenlöség (Equality), Înfrăţirea (Brotherhood), Ardealul Nou (New Transylvania), Cuvântul tineretului-Ifjúság Szava (Youth Word) confirmed the experience that the local communist press had gathered during the interwar period, when Tîrgu Mureş was among the most important centers of the communist press. Between 1944-1947, the democratic press resistance meant the appearance of only one publication - Mureşul (1946). In this context, Ardealul Nou (1946-1952) had the longest appearance of the period, marked by two intervals: the beginning period as a ,,democratic paper” (1946-1947) and the communist period (1948-1952), which draw together the profile of this publication as the first page of communism in Mureş, but also as the most important journalistic local accomplishment of the late 40s, introducing another paper, Steaua roşie (The Red Star), which later became the voice of the communist period in the Mureş area.
