Summary/Abstract: Introduction: Great contribution to the practice can be the use of valid and reliable assessment tools for the needs of practical assessment of students of nursing. The aim of the work was to analyze how nursing students evaluate the application of the nursing process, professionalism, expertise and ethical principles in clinical practice. Methodology: We conducted research at two universities Faculty of Healthcare department university of prešov and Faculty of Health department of the Catholic university in Ružomberok. The sample examined consisted of 80 students. We used a standardized questionnaire nursing Student Clinical performance Evaluation Scale by Karayurt et al., which was modified by Gurková et al. Results: We compared the results obtained between universities on a scale from a – FX. Students FHC pu reported the best results in the use of technical skills, students FH Ku best evaluated the implementation of procedures according to a safe way. The findings confirmed that the ethical principles of students at both universities are on high standard and place adequate emphasis on them. Discussion: practical performance tests are used worldwide as a tool to assess clinical skills for the students in the educational process. We propose to create a valid tool for the needs of assessing the competence of students in clinical exercises. Conclusion: The criteria of clinical practice include evaluation a cognitive, affective and psychomotor knowledges. Clinical evaluation clearly contributes to the innovation of the teaching process, helps to adhere to set standards and protects the patient from unauthorized interference.
