Summary/Abstract: Introduction. Frailty is a common problem of aging, and we see she as the opposite of vitality. The syndrome is multifactorial, so there is no specific causal treatment. It is necessary to identify a patient with frailty and try to maintain his physical, mental and social activity. Objectives. We wanted to find out the possibilities of detecting the frailty syndrome in seniors using a specific tool and the possibility of its use in the somatic and psychological area in this group. Methods. We used the Groningen Frailty Index, where we used a factor analysis of its domains. It is a 15-item questionnaire that assesses physical, sensory and psychosocial areas. The survey was conducted on a sample of 56 seniors. Results. The age category of 65-75 reached an average score of GFI=6.8 points. The highest average score of GFI=9.34 was achieved by seniors with poorer physical fitness. Respondents who do not have independence in dressing achieved an average GFI score of 11.05 points. Respondents who reported experiencing a feeling of loneliness achieved an average GFI score of 8.76 points. Conclusions. Frailty is among the frequent attributes of seniors in care facilities and causes of mortality in this age group. In the prevention of frailty, early detection of at-risk persons with subsequent assessment of their functional status is important. It is important to create a rehabilitation plan for improving muscle strength and fitness and psychological activation of the senior.
