Summary/Abstract: The present paper, dedicated to the memory of a distinguished Polish linguist, Professor Roman Kalisz, is an attempt at emotive interpretation of the Polish discourse markers (no) coś ty, and their English equivalents in pragmatic contexts of diffused translational equivalence. The language materials referred to are generated from the National Corpus of Polish, British National Corpus and parallel data as well as instances of use from Polish and English monitor corpora.
