Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main objective of the article is to analyze the challenges faced by the project implementers as part of 3 missions Jesuit University Ignatianum in Cracow in the context of running projects financed from European founds and to analyse how the literary contest activating young people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition was carried out in the frame of the project “Valuable Volunteering – Valuable Future!” and was aimed to reach out to youth 15-29 years old. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The problem analysed in the article is to recognize the potential of the literature contest as a tool for activating young people. In analysis have been used including: analysis, synthesis, categorisation and comparison of the essays. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The Article shows how Ignatianum implements tasks in the frame of the pandemic situation, especially in the context of the project management. The way of implementing was based on remote systems and tools. It was shown how the literary competition was implemented using the „ design thinking ” method and its potential instrument in relastions to other participants. RESEARCH RESULTS: The result of the scientific analysis is the confirmation of the validity of new youth activation in the times of the COVID-19. Those young people belongs to a generation that has never lived in similar times. As a result of the competition was possible to activite to action and reach potentially interested new participants of the project. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The analysis gave an answer to a question, what is an effective way of activating young people in times like quarantine. The results of the analysis show that creative use of remote communication mobilise young people. Conclusions to those observations have been drawn based on the analysis of the youth social engagement and activities during the lockdown.
